Ornithogalum umbellatum (conusìt en bresà coi nòm de: Ai de luf e Fiur de la Madóna[1]) l'è 'na piantìna bulbùza perène de la famìa botànica de le Asparagaceae, uriginària de l'Europa centrala e meridiunala, del nordèst de l'Àfrica e sudòvest de l'Asia.[2] Endel'America setentriunàla, l'è cultiàda come pianta ornamintàla ma la s'è apò a 'ngeneràda e natüralizàda en divèrse regiù.[3]

L'è la spéce modèl per el sò zèner, la g'ha bùlbi de 15÷25 mm de longhèsa per 18÷32 mm de diàmetro. La g'ha de 6 a 10 fòie lineàre condena bànda biànca sö la fàcia del endrìt de 30 ghèi de longhèsa y 8 mm de larghèsa e 'n gambì de 10÷30 ghèi. I fiùr i reünìcc enden curìmp a gratilìna furmàt de 6÷20 fiurilì biànch condena sfrànza vérda.[4][5]

L'è 'na piantìna che g'ha bezògn de 'n bèl pó de ümidità d'envéren e 'n primaéra, ma 'l sopórta bé la söta 'n istàt. Se pöl fàl nì sö endèn giardì de tipo buscùs come sórt de mèter a mèza ómbra. La fiorés endei més de bril-màgio endel'Euròpa meridiunàla. L'è 'na piànta vilinùza.
